Delicious and wholesome, these Wheat Muffins are made with whole wheat flour and natural sweetness, making them a perfect snack or breakfast treat. Soft, fluffy, and guilt-free!

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar or honey
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce (or mashed bananas)
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup optional add-ins (chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or dried fruits)
Step By Step Method
Step 01.

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease it.

Step 02.

In a large bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In another bowl, mix the brown sugar (or honey), applesauce, vegetable oil, milk, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Step 04.

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Fold in any optional add-ins like nuts or chocolate chips.

Step 05.

Spoon the batter evenly into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 3/4 full.

Bake for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
